The author is considered one of the leading experts of Latvian folk costumes and she seems to be aware of it - her pompous attitude is known in the industry and it can often be observed by visiting her shop in Latviesu Biedriba building in downton Riga. Readers who do not necessarily have a command of Latvian, but are interested in Latvian folk costumes should find this book useful, especially the high quality pictures showing folk costumes of each region.
