- Musical Album "Viegli"
In spring 2010 eleven socially active Latvians established the charity fund "Viegli" inspired by Latvian poet Imants Ziedonis. The main goal of the fund is to support and promote creativity in Latvia. The first project of the fund is the musical album "Viegli". Songs have been written by various popular Latvian musicians including Renārs Kaupers (lead singer from band “Brainstorm”), Kārlis Kazāks, Jānis Strapcāns, Jānis Holšteins – Upmanis (Goran Gora), Māra Upmane – Holšteine (lead singer from band “Astro’n’out”), Raimonds Gusarevs (El Mars) and others. All the lyrics of the songs are based on poetry work by Latvian poet Imants Ziedonis and his voice is recorded in one song. The album is interesting due to the fact that it was recorded in only one week, during a creative camp at Ziedonis' summer residence. All funds raised by the sale of the album will go towards "Viegli" goals.
